Been trying to get this thing off my chest. Have been upset at this news but decided to accept whatever happens net.

It has come to my attention that the current owners of the

Queen Mary has filed bankruptcy and the poor girl's future remain uncertain. At least until after they auction her lease to new owners. Aside from that, she physically isn't exactly in the best condition either. doesn't look like it from the outside but the ship is in poor structural condition. The SS United States is far more structurally sound than her despite rotting in a dock for 30 years

As much as we want to save her from this fate. As much as he hope that she'll be taken care of by new owners of her lease, we don't have the resources or money for that to happen. People think that she's immune to being scrapped due to how historically significant she is or how Long Beach would not allow her to be scrapped, I've accepted the reality that this will be the case.

I'm very sure and I'm very certain that she'll be scrapped. Saving her is too expensive and unfortunately they will choose scrapping as a more cheaper and profitable alternative.I ust know it my heart that she will be destroyed. Her value as scrap will be much greater than her historical value. that's how the world works these days.

Her demise at the hand of the acetylene torch will ust remind us of how cold and unfeeling this world can be. It's all driven by one thing: Profit. If QM can't turn a profit as a tourist attraction, then it'll be more profitable for her to be broken up and smelted unfortunately. These days, if a historical relic doesn't financially benefit it's owner, they're free to dispose of it. Willing to destroy their own heritage if it can't turn up a profit.

I've come to accept this sad reality. All things come to an end. Nothing last forever. In the end, whatever the case may be, she's only a ship. mortal like those before and after her.

To anyone reading this and to anyone who knows of this terrible situation the old girl is in. I hope you can accept and cope if it is decided that she is to be broken up for scrap rather than wasting money trying to save her. I hope you can accept that reality, assuming it ever reaches that point, which i feel like it definitely will. I want to believe that things could improve for her, but I just don't see that at all.

I just know that this will be her fate. the last of the great ocean liners dying off and joining the rest of her kin who have been scrapped like her or are rotting away on the ocean floor. Perhaps it's nearing the time to say goodbye to the old queen.
